Memorial Day in Yonkers was filled with so many great ceremonies and parades honoring our fallen heroes. Thank you to everyone involved for your efforts and to our residents for your support. May we never forget to thank and honor our fallen heroes and those fighting for our country every day. Yonkers was filled with so many fantastic events this week! My staff and I enjoyed celebrating with Richmond Community Services as they celebrated renovations and I look forward to honoring this worthy organization as my Agency of The Month this weekend. At the Capitol, we are continuing to fight for our City as session is close to an end! Stay tuned. I will make sure to update you all on my first year in session! Thank you Governor Cuomo for hosting a wonderful evening for the Muslim community, I look forward to celebrating each year. I am honored to be representing all of the residents in the 90th District of Yonkers. I am very proud of our City and would like to thank each and every one of you for your consistent support. Thank you to all of those who attended our Memorial Day events this past week. God Bless our veterans! Out and About ‌ This week we celebrated with Richmond Community Services Center as they opened their newly renovated location on Cook Avenue. Seven disabled individuals now have a home and will receive around the clock support! Thank you Senator Nick Spano and Mayor Mike Spano for helping to make this possible! Richmond Community Services is being honored as Agency of The Month for June 2019! I am privileged to present to them with this award this Sunday, June 2nd at their Funfest event! Will you be attending The Richmond Community Services Funfest this Sunday?! Yes Select No Select While up in Albany, my staff attended The Yonkers Basics recognition event at the Riverfront Library! Congratulations to Lisa Davis, Executive Director who was honored at the Westchester and Putnam School Boards Association Dinner! As a Board of Education Trustee I worked with Lisa and am so proud of her many accomplishments. The "Relay for Life" Fight Against Cancer was a huge success at Gorton High School! Go out and support a great cause until Midnight! At Your State Capitol This Week It was an honor to join Governor Andrew M. Cuomo as he hosted the State's first Iftar dinner to celebrate the Muslim month of Ramadan. This is the first Iftar dinner hosted by any gubernatorial administration in New York State! Happening In Yonkers... On Monday May 20th The Yonkers Fire Department began their annual fire hydrant inspection program. The program will run from 6-8 weeks. June-August enjoy Summer concerts in downtown Yonkers! June 7-9th. Join me at the Prophet Elias Church Greek Festival! Every year my family has a blast, great music, entertainment and food! The Annual Senior Picnic hosted by Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation is around the corner!
