Up first: youth services and education. I was honored that so many of you attended and asked all the right questions. We discussed the role of Positive Youth Development in Mt. Vernon schools—of Connection, Confidence, Character, Competence, and Contribution, and the need to build and nurture the beliefs, behaviors, and skills that result in a healthy and productive member of our Mt. Vernon society. As your mayor, I promise to change the culture of city government. I’ll have the honest conversations, with a clear-eyed focus on what we together can become, on what we can achieve for our youth.  I hope you’ll join me on my campaign for integrity, truth, and inclusion.
