Local author, and Yonkers First Lady Mary Calvi's excellent presentation about researching and writing Dear George, Dear Mary: A Novel of George Washington's First Love enthralled the students at Yonkers Middle High School this week. The students already read her historical novel exploring a romance between George Washington and Mary Philipse, whose family owned Manor Hall. We look forward to Ms. Calvi's return on May 23, 2019, when she will keynote the District's Yonkers History Day celebration. |
